Effective Use Of Aesthetic Choices – Coursework Example
Effective Use of Aesthetic Choices Effective Use of Aesthetic Choices Introduction In the contemporary entertainment industry, producers and directors use new technological innovations to attract viewers’ attention. Perfect selection of aesthetic choices when producing a movie has led to high-quality videos. Producers edit videos after shooting to avoid errors and repetition of scenes. Cinematographers use appropriate camera distances and angles to draw attention of viewers on a major scene. Color of a movie shows the setup while light depicts mood in the scene. Cinematography can draw viewers’ attention to the movie depending on the amount of light used.
Act of making impossible possible is one of the things that make watching a movie entertaining. Editing a movie helps create actions to flow smoothly across shots and scenes without causing inconsistencies. Angle match in dialogue scenes is achievable through editing the film (Chandler, 2009, p. 30). In “Godfather” movie, scenes flow back and forth quickly between lines of action to show flashbacks and current events at the church. Main character recalls the sins then confess as the father baptizes the kid.
Filmmakers use camera distances and angles to direct the viewers’ attention to the object of greatest significance within the frame. According to Malkiewicz and Mullen, 2009, p. 102, cinematography also involves balancing light levels. In “Manhattan the Bridge Scene” movie, camera is moving while focusing the characters as they walk in front. Closed-up shot focuses attention on the two main characters in the movie. The scene is in black and white color imagery.
Careful controls of light produce shadows that conceal details and create moods suggest realism and direct audience attention to points of emphasis (Brown, 2014). In the movie “Lost in Translation,” low- key lighting is applicable. The shadows and high contrast create a secretive mood between the two characters in the bar. Dull light and the conversation between the characters show a secretive agent agenda.
