Motivating Employees and Teams in Health Care In the modern competitive business environment, discovering ways of motivating employees is a concern to the management of many organizations. For most employees and teams, credit for a job well performed keeps them more motivated to achieve their goals (Burns et al., 2012). The use of performance management software assists organizations to create the environment that motivates managers to follow the accomplishments of employees so as to recognize them. Besides using the performance management software, various healthcare organizations involved identify exceptional employee work through recognition programs. Recognition programs help employees to put more effort to be acknowledged the next time.
One of the most preferred ways to motivate employees is through strengths-based coaching. The coaching method allows managers locate areas of growth that every employee must work on and set goals that correspond (Kamphorst & Swank, 2012). The good relationship between the managers and healthcare workers motivates employees to work harder and smarter. When used together with supervision, strength-based goals assist employees to stay connected to their objective in health care organizations. It is critical for employees to be connected to their goals for organizations to serve clients well.
The provision of more training to familiarize employees with changes in an organization may not be enough to motivate employees. Developing employees in terms of integrity, emotional maturity, and compassion help employees to be part of the changes that occur in organizations (Andreasson et al., 2015). Where employees feel invested in the changes of an organization, they will exhibit higher levels of motivation. It will allow for a smoother transition and help healthcare organizations increase productivity.
